Many churches have dropped using a benediction chorus at the end of their worship services.

I miss that part of the service and I am praying about the idea of introducing it again.

Perhaps I’ll ask our keyboard player to write the music to accompany this blessing that Aaron was instructed to pronounce upon the Israelites worshipping at the tabernacle:

“May the Lord bless you and protect you.

“May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.

“May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

What a positive, uplifting message to hear as one leaves a worship service!

There’s no reason to limit the use of this blessing, though.

And so, these are my words today to you.

Enjoy the Lord’s blessing.

Cherish His protection.

Savor His smile.

Rejoice in His grace.

Celebrate His favor.

Rest in His peace.

As always, I love you
Martin
