Many years ago, a Canadian rock singer named Bryan Adams had a hit song called “Everything I Do, I Do It For You.”

I love that song because it speaks to a commitment to love and provide the utmost in effort to provide all that one can.

This is the kind of love that God wants to see flowing from Christians toward others.

The Apostle Paul wrote of this kind of love in 2 Corinthians 12.

His words stirred my heart to remember why I entered the ministry many years ago.

I pray that the words stir your heart to become more like Christ, the Savior who gave Himself up for us all.

Everything we do, dear friends, is to strengthen you” (verse 19).

As you go through your day, think of the people — and the God — you love dearly.

Ask yourself if that pondered action or that thought or that set of spoken words would strengthen others or instead weaken them, perhaps even harm them.

Ask yourself if that action or thought or spoken words would please God or displease God.

Let’s do our best to strengthen, not weaken, others.

In everything.

As always, I love you
Martin
