In 1971, the rock band Led Zeppelin dominated the radio airwaves for a time with the song “Stairway to Heaven.” I’m sure that many of you are recalling this entrancing melody even now as you think back to those days in your life. click here to listen to the song

Looking back this morning at the lyrics, my view is that they’re actually somewhat bizarre, having the flow and order of a crazy dream bouncing all over the place and making little sense to me.

But I read this morning of another stairway to heaven — “Then he said, ‘I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the One who is the stairway between heaven and earth.'” (John 1:51)

This is the real one, my friend. The one that I want to go to again and again.

And I pray that you’ll be moved by this really a cool, vivid word picture and choose to rely on this stairway to get you where you want to go when this life is over and — before then — to bring you into the presence of God in worship and with prayer requests.

As always, I love you
Martin
