In just 10 days, my wife Lori will be moving back in with me.

Hallelujah!

She has been living in rural north Georgia since early last August in order to care for her terminally ill mother and to work as a clinical dietitian for the Veteran’s Administration. Joyce passed away in October, yet a suitable job opening in Miami has not occurred until now.

It is a mixed bag of feelings for Lori because she loves the small-town setting in Blairsville, GA with it’s four-car traffic jams and traffic light total that can be counted on two hands.

In contrast, our rented residence in Miami has 10 traffic lights within one mile.

Her commute now is 15 minutes through eight miles of rolling countryside.

Her commute in Miami will be 40 minutes – on a good day — through 22 miles of urban freeways and busy six-lane streets.

Lori’s move makes obvious the fact that she loves me and the opportunity to partner with me in ministering at SouthWinds Christian Church with the lovely people there.

For those callings are why Lori is leaving a great job in a quiet setting in order to start over with a new job (clinical dietitian manager in a hospital), one that will require driving through miles and miles of heavy traffic.

I ask that you pray for this transition that Lori is making and that her surrendering to the leading of God’s Spirit will bring blessing to her as it brings blessing to me and to the SouthWinds Christian family.

I don’t want to be selfish with this request, though. If you know anybody else going through a major life situation change because of God’s calling on his or her life, please pray for them to be strengthened in their service to the Kingdom and for them to be blessed as a sign of God’s favor because of their decision.

The day might come that you face a major transition away from your comfort zone in order to better serve the Lord. When that happens, please call upon Lori and me to pray for you. We’ll certainly want to return the blessing.

As always, I love you
Martin
