A recurring problem that we Christians encounter is the taking of God’s grace for granted.

Of course, we don’t like associating with people who act like they’re entitled to us treating them better than they deserve.

Vanity is repulsive.

It is to God.

And it should be to us.

A passage in today’s devotional reading reminds us of how we should always reject the lie of entitled thinking.

It’s the kind of thinking that led to Satan’s ouster from heaven and it’s the kind of thinking that builds an insurmountable wall between a soul and eternal glory — unless, of course, that soul repents and humbly throws itself at the feet of God’s throne.

“He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:10-11)

Listen, we’re always treated better than we deserve. Even when we are allowed to receive a portion of the unwanted consequences of poor choices we’ve made.

Let’s do our very best to treat God the way that He deserves — with total loyalty and praise and devoted service to Him and others.

As I told a group at church the other day, the least that we can do is offering the most that we can do.

As always, I love you
Martin
