If I want more blessings from God, scripture says, I should learn and live more of God’s wisdom rather than my own.

It’s that simple.

It’s that certain.

It’s that clear in the Bible.

But those who look intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continue in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.” (James 1:25)

I’m glad that the vast majority of the Bible is easily understood.

I don’t like being confused and you don’t, either.

That’s why the above verse is so good for us.

God wants us to experience His blessings.

And as we commit ourselves to liviing out His purposes, He WILL bless us in what we do.

Not just the most important blessing of spiritual/emotional freedom but with blessings such as loving friends, wholesome activities, sleeping without anxiety, provision of basic needs and so many more.

Faithful Christianity is all about loyalty to God, to His Word, to His purposes, to His people and to those who need Him as Lord.

It’s about consistently living out what we believe.

That’s why our faith is indicated by what overflows from our lips.

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.” (James 1:26)

I don’t want you to have a worthless religion. Instead, I want you to have a priceless faith.

I’m sure that you’re quite aware if you’re one who struggles with a loose tongue that causes problems for others and yourself. Hurtful words can lacerate to the emotional bone and, even after the passage of time and promises of forgiveness, the scars remain.

Let your love for God and your intent reading of the Word mature you into one with a tongue that builds up rather than tears down. This is my aspiration.

Others will see your faith as constructive, not destructive, and they just might start leaning on you rather than pushing away from you.

That, my friends, will be a blessing for you and for them.

As always, I love you
Martin
