I love the fact that I am never too far from God’s strong, rescuing arms.

Just as a child is comforted by his daddy’s presence when times get scary, so are Christians to find inner peace because they are never too far from God’s divine desire and ability to help.

Some of you remember teaching your kids how to ride a bike without training wheels. It’s a big deal for a kid the first time those training wheels come off. He or she realizes that a spill might occur and he or she might get a big-time boo-boo.

When Daddy’s arms are just a few feet away as he runs alongside the kid, there is a much greater sense of emotional peace.

I might mess up but Daddy is right there and he won’t let me fall too hard and get hurt,” is what the kid is thinking.

If we ask Him to, our God will be that Daddy who won’t let us fall too hard in a way that cripples our spirit.

How can He pull this off?

The answer is revealed in today’s One-Year Bible:

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to You; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to You.” (Psalm 139:7-12).

The fact is that anywhere we go in this life, it is a place that God has already been since He created it.

And any circumstance that we face — good or bad — God has already helped countless people out of the same thing before. Remember King Solomon’s words? There is nothing new under the sun.

What is and what will be has already been.

And God has been interceding all along.

You are not alone, my friend.

God is nearby, waiting on you to cry “Abba Father!” as you seek His rescuing arms.

Whether your heart is sad or you body is sick or your spirit is spent or pockets are empty, please remember that God is close by and waiting for you to call for Him.

No matter where you go.

As always, I love you
Martin
