Just about the fastest way to make a strong statement of faith in the workplace or school hallway is to show kindness to one who typically shows the opposite to us.

We all know that the person who antagonizes or simply belittles our faith in the eyes of others is trying to wound. We might not know all the reasons for such but we can offer a godly response that actually uses that unfair treatment for Kingdom purposes.

It’s sort of like judo — wisely use the inertia of another to bring defeat to himself or herself.

In the above case, though, our objective is to help them see the true source of victory.

And when the spiritual cynic’s efforts to harm prompt us toward efforts that heal, he or she and everybody else watching the sequence will see that faith DOES count for something.

Here’s the biblical basis for my assertion:

“If you come upon your enemy’s ox or donkey that has strayed away, take it back to its owner. If you see that the donkey of someone who hates you has collapsed under its load, do not walk by. Instead, stop and help.” (Exodus 23:4-5)

Turning the other cheek really does work in turning the attitudes of most co-workers and classmates, whether the one stirring the pot or the ones watching the harassment.

And, of course, God’s grace and sustaining power are put on display in vivid detail.

It’s beautiful when it happens and it’s a privilege when it happens to us as we help those who’ve tried to harm us.

Think you’re not strong enough to stand during the harassment?

On you’re own, you’re probably right.

The Enemy will bring a Goliath along who is bigger and badder than we.

But with God, all things are possible.

“The Lord gives His people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.” (Psalm 29:11).

Stand, my friend. For you do not stand alone.

As always, I love you
Martin
