God offers us guaranteed blessings if our attitude is right.

I like that idea.

Here’s one of those guarantees:

“…blessed are those who help the poor.”

These seven words from Proverbs 14:21 provide the simplest of roadmaps to blessing.

Whether or not the bag or box of groceries we provide to a needy person is replaced in our pantries by God, we will be blessed by knowing that someone else will be less likely to go without food.

Perhaps your help to another might be a gift card to allow the parent to buy some needed shoes for a child.

Please pray for the Lord to shape your heart into a softer, more compassionate vessel of ministry toward the poor.

Consider pulling together a bag of food today from within your pantry in order to give to a person or family who could surely use it.

Consider keeping a bag of easy-open food and some water bottles in a bag in your car to give to a homeless person.

Consider assembling a box of food that could feed a poor family for a week.

Consider buying some prepaid gift cards that could be used to buy clothing for kids.

We’re called to help the poor.

Let’s start today.

As always, I love you
Martin
